We have visited Barcelona several times either before or after a cruise.  It is a fantastic city with a lot to offer in the way of sightseeing.  The people are friendly and enough of them speak English to be able to do everything you want.

It is located in the NE edge of the country on the Mediterranean Sea.

The currency is the Euro, and Spanish is the official language.
