We spent three nights in Bucharest on our own and did an afternoon tour one day to see the city.   It was a very interesting city.  We visited a old time village where they had relocated multiple buildings. It was huge.  We got pictures outside the parliament building, which is the single largest building ever built.  It goes underground as a structure equally to what you see above ground. Most of it has never been occupied.   It is a pretty city and worked well for a point to explore the rest of the country.
