Welcome to Christchurch

We visited Christchurch as part of the land tour of Australia and New Zealand. We were there one year after a devastating earthquake hit the area in 2011.   Over 40,000 homes, as well as many many buildings, and a brand new sports stadium had to be razed due to the damage.  One year later and you could still see the effects everywhere.  We visited an historic house, the Antarctic Center, a history museum, and a botanical gardens that claimed to have every species of tree in the world planted there.   We would love to go back and see the city now.
