Welcome to Lucerne

Lucerne was the first stop on our train trip through Switzerland and Northern Italy with Collette Vacations.     It was a beautiful city set on the shore of Lake Lucerne.   We got a great tour of the city, but there was a lot things we didn’t get to see so we want to get back there eventually.    One afternoon we when just outside of town and took a cog railway up Mt. Pilatus. It is billed as the steepest cog railway in the world.  We had fantastic views of the Swiss countryside once we got up there.  Instead of taking the cog railway back down we took a really long Gondola car system all the way back to the suburb of Kriens and then the bus back to the hotel.
