Welcome to Oman

We went to Oman as the fourth stop on our Rome to Dubai cruise.   We didn’t know much about the country before going there, but unlike its neighbors of Egypt and Jordan, Oman is a very affluent country. When we pulled into the port in Muscat it looked like a small tourist type port nestled in a mountain range with a few yachts moored there.

Once we got off the ship and moved around the edge of the mountain there was a sprawling modern city very much like a Dubai or Abu Dhabi that you see pictures of on TV all time.  It just didn’t have the immense sky scrapers of the other two cities.
