We left for the day from Livorno, where were docked on our NCL cruise, on an excursion first to Florence and then to Pisa.  This was our first time in Italy and both cities were really impressive.  The leaning tower is inside a walled complex(Piazza del Duomo) that also holds the Pisa Cathedral. There is also the Pisa Baptistry and a cemetery  It has a few modern upgrades, like a Subway which took away a bit of the charm.  Still a really cool place to see.
