Welcome to Punta Arenas

We stopped in Punta Arenas Chile in 2017 on a cruise.     We opted for an excursion to a small island that was a penguin sanctuary.   You can see from the pictures and the video it was a cold windy place, even in the middle of their summer.   You had to stay on the walking paths but the penguins were used to humans and paid no attention to us.   Really interesting experience, including the boat ride there in an old ferry boat.

Included here are some pictures and video from the Amalia Glacier that was located inland from the ocean, north of Punta Arenas.
