Welcome to Rome

We took an all day excursion from the port of Civitaecchia into Rome to see the city and to visit the Vatican.         Seeing the coliseum had been on my wife’s bucket list a long time, like climbing the Great Wall of China was on mine.    It was a bit of a rainy day but it was still worth it.  It was an amazing place, like the rest of the city.  There was no way to see everything and someday we need to get back there.    The Vatican was really interesting and since this cruise was our first time in Europe it was an even more impressive place.  I am really glad we had an excursion that got us to the front of the line since the lines to get in were really long.    We got to see everything and so while we would go back to Rome, we don’t need to go back to the Vatican.
