Welcome to Wellington

We visited Wellington as part of the land tour of Australia and New Zealand. Wellington is the countries Capital and is located on the southern edge of the North Island.  We got there by taking a very large ferry from Picton on the south island.  It was an interesting, though not spectacular tour of the city.  We took a funicular to the top of a large hill right in center city for some great views of the area. We also visited a Maori museum that gave us our first insights into the Maori culture.
