Welcome to Icy Strait Point, Alaska

We have been to Icy Strait twice, once in 2021 and then in 2024. In 2021  spent the afternoon first visiting the local Hoonan Village (in a light rain) and then taking a whale watching tour.  We have done several whale watching tours before with ranges from no success to getting some great views.   We saw more whales at Icy Strait Point then we have seen on all the other tours combined.

In 2024 we again did the whale watching and saw even more whales including “bubble feeding” which the pod uses air bubbles to force the fish to the surface and then the pod eats them   Amazing to see.     We then did an incredibly steep Gondola ride to the top of the mountain for some really amazing Views.            Icy Strait has it all.
