Welcome to Sitka, Alaska
The was our first visit to Sitka. We went on a 5 hour excursion from the ship to see Whales, Sea Otters, Raptors, Bears and more. We saw some whales, but nothing like in Icy Strait. The trip to the Fortress of the Bears Sanctuary and the Raptor Wildlife Center were the highlights.
The visit to St. Lazaria Island was interesting because it was formed from volcanic material being spewed from a nearby Volcano
