Welcome to Casablanca

We spent the day in Casablanca on a ships excursion to see the major highlights of the city.  We did a driving tour to get a feel for the city with stops at a local outdoor market, the Kings Palace (which was very underwhelming) and couple of quick photo stops.   The highlight was visiting the relatively new King Hassan II Mosque, the second largest in Africa, and the 7th largest in the world. Our guide did a fantastic job of explaining their religion and its place in the world. The Mosque is located right on the shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean so that added to the views.

We drove by “Ricks Place” from the movie Casablanca.  It was created years after the movie to take advantage of the hype since the movie was filmed in Los Angeles.
