We got the opportunity to come back to South America and then go on to Antarctica and we took it.  January is their summer in the southern Hemisphere so it was hot in Buenos Aires and got progressively colder as we headed south.  When we got Antarctica it was in the low 30’s so it really wasn’t that bad and other than that we had beautiful weather while we were there.    By going on a regular cruise ship we got to see most of the same sights as the small boats that take passengers there from Ushuaia for a fraction of the price.  Look into it, it was worth it.  We went on the Celebrity Infinity, but other cruise lines are doing it as well.
