Welcome to the Orkney Islands

The Orkney Islands was our last stop on our Norway cruise. Technically the name of the island we were at was called “Mainland”, but everybody just says Orkney. It was an interesting day seeing historical places and getting a feel for the island.

Much of it is a very flat area, but it is good for farming and the raising of sheep and cattle. It is north of Scotland and part of Scotland.

We were there is September and it was a harsh environment with very cool windy weather and it was not a place we would choose to live.
