On Day 1 we went into the countryside by bus to Peterhof Palace. It was built in the early 1700’s by Peter the Great.

We could not take pictures inside but the whole place was spectacular.

We went back to the city on a hydrofoil boat and had lunch at a floating restaurant.   After lunch we toured the city a bit and then went to the Peter and Paul’s Cathedral complex which had been built in the early 1700’s as well.
