We took a train from Venice to Paris at the end of our Mediterranean cruise in 2013 to see the city.   It really is a beautiful city.  We were there in October and the weather was not all that nice and the last day was down right ugly.  We got to see a number of the major sites as any tourist would do.   There certainly was so much more to see and though it has not worked out to go back yet we hope to get back there one day.
