Welcome to Barbados

We visited the island of Barbados only once on a cruise in November 2023. We booked a non cruise ship excursion.   The tour was a singular stop for this island.   It was to a complex called Harrison Caves.   It is one of the larger cave systems we have ever been to and the only one where the whole tour is done from a tram style train that takes you through the caves.  The main reason for the tram is the elevation changes within the caves themselves.  The cave tunnels have some very steep inclines that would make it almost impossible to do by walking.    Didn’t get to see a lot of the island and it was raining as we drove to and from the caves which made it even more difficult to see things.

Bridgetown is not near the cruise terminal, making it more difficult to visit.
