Welcome to Johannesburg

We visited Johannesburg as the last stop on our African safari vacation in 2016. We stayed in a hotel that was 3 houses converted in one hotel.  Each room was individual with all sorts of goodies.  With the exchange rate the prices were very good for us.

We toured some neighborhoods, then drove into downtown Johannesburg for first a driving tour and then to get views from a sightseeing tower.  After that we headed to Soweto, a suburb of Johannesburg. They say it is the only 100% black city in the world where multiple races exist.

The final stop before going home was a visit to the Apartheid Museum.  We could not take any pictures or video in there, but it was a sobering experience and certainly worth doing.
