Welcome to Ketchikan, Alaska

We have been to Ketchikan three times, 2007, 2021 & 2024.

In 2021 there is no other way to put it other than the weather sucked on the day we were there in September.  It rained all day and it was windy as well and Temperatures in the 40’s.   Our excursion, which was a boat trip inland to look for wildlife, was canceled because of the weather.  I went into town from the cruise port to get some pictures and video for the website.  I was able to get some, but it cost me an umbrella that was destroyed by the wind.

In 2024 we had a beautiful day weather wise and we did a boat cruise in the area for views of a lighthouse, totem poles and wildlife.    A Really pleasant day.

Where we docked is called Ward Cove and it is outside of town and used exclusively by Norwegian Cruise lines and their related companies. They have created quite the port shopping experience and I left in the 2021 video so you can see the difference from the 2024 video
