Welcome to Olden

Olden was the second stop on our cruise from Tromso to Reykjavik.  All of Norway is beautiful and Olden was no exception.  We went inland on an excursion to the Briksdal Glacier and associated waterfall.  This is a great excursion, but it was also a strenuous workout.   It is a lot of up and down walking and there are many steps as well.  It was lightly raining which didn’t help.  They have what they call a Troll Car, which is like a large golf cart that can take you a good way up the path and then you walk from there.   You have to book it in advance as part of the excursion or online on your own ahead of time.   They said the wait to book when you get there is always at least a couple of hours.   We did not have the knowledge to reserve the ride so we had to walk it.   It was a workout, but worth it.
