Welcome to the Philae Temple Complex
The Philae Temple Complex is located on an island between the Aswan High Dam and the Aswan Low Dam. The whole complex was taken apart and moved to this location because of the rising waters caused by the building of the Dams. Several Temples were lost to the rising waters, but others, like Philae, were saved.

- Originally built around 380 BC to 145 BC
- The Primary Temple was built for the god ISIS.
- Originally built on Philae Island.
- Was almost always flooded once the Aswan Low Dam was built in the early 1900’s
- Moved to its current location in the 1960’s.
