Welcome to St. Kitts

We visited the island of St Kitts only once on a cruise in November 2023.  We booked a non cruise ship excursion   We took a tour that was riding on a vintage sugar cane train ride from one point on the northeast side of the island 18 miles over to the east side.  The ride on the narrow gauge railway worked its way slowly along the winding route giving some great views of the island and a good view into the lives of many of the citizens of the island.  Each car on the train has a lower air conditioned area and the upstairs is open air that really affords great views.   Due to the condition of track over the years there is a lot of rocking side to side so once again if your prone to motion sickness take care.  The port is right at downtown Brassiere so you can walk around town and really get a feel for the place.
