Welcome to St Lucia

We visited the island of St. Lucia only once on a cruise in November 2023.  We did a combination bus and catamaran ships excursion tour of the island. The first stop was to a botanical gardens.  The drive to the gardens was over one and one half hours over twisting and turning hilly roads and it was pouring rain a lot of the time. Add in a lot of pot holes and it was not a fun ride.  If you’re prone to motion sickness this is not the tour for you.    The botanical gardens were interesting with a variety of ferns, fauna, and flowers in a very compact walkway.   There was a really nice waterfall at the end.    Next it was on to an old sugar mill that is now converted into a restaurant where we had a good Creole buffet lunch.  Then we got on a catamaran for a fairly long trip along the shoreline with a stop for a swim along the way.   Rain played a big part in the day.  Not sure if it was really worth it.
